head back home.

L O V E, I I.

"this song is about two people in relationship and it goes very badly.
and one of them decides it's good to go on a hiatus, of sorts. because, the relationship went horribly so they want to try to somehow start over from scratch as if that has ever worked in literally all of recorded history in any relationship.
but the person knows how small the town of two thousand on the southern tip of seneca lake is and they decide to take up a physical labor opportunity in a town called ackley, iowa to truly get away.
this is from the perspective of the person still living in New York, and it's called Love, II."

Capo 4
E-G-A repeatedly throughout

The setting sun out here in the spring
Can you see it in Iowa? It's such a pretty thing
I know what you're thinking
But I don't know what you're thinking it for

Don't come back
To this city
Don't even think about it

Don't come back
To this city
There's no one to give you pity

Rip your phone cord out of the wall
No one is even going to call
Barricade each window so no one can get in
Stay all cozy up in your little den

Don't come back
To this city
Don't even think about it

Don't come back
To this city
There's no one to give you pity

I'm not sure who I should trust
But I know it's not one of us
Wouldn't believe if you said the sky was blue
Wouldn't believe it if you told me what I knew

White lies spill like liquid from your mouth
Maybe that's why this all went south
Try to appreciate the finer things we had but
Now it's over and believe me I'm glad

Don't come back
To this city
Don't even think about it

Don't come back
To this city
If you do, it won't be pretty

So don't come back
